The first church building at the present location
The family worship center was officially organized with the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee in August 1980 under pastor Boyd Osborne. Originally known as the Church of God at Mount Jackson, the church occupied several locations before settling on their current property just south of Edinburg, Virginia.
Pastor William Shifflett is the sixth and longest tenured pastor, having assumed the role of pastor in September 1994. The church began construction on its first permanent facility in March of 1997 and held its inaugural service on March 28 1998.
The church continues to grow in influence in its community and through their Radio Broadcasts in the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.
The new building in July 1998.
The church’s current mission statement comes from 2nd Corinthians 5:9 " we make it our aim to be well pleasing to him." AIM is an acronym for the threefold vision of the church:
A= Accurate in doctrine
I = Intimate in worship
M = Multiplying in ministry
